Another apartment building planned near downtown
Dominion LLC plans to build a five-story, 20-unit apartment building on a vacant lot at 1509 N. Jackson St., just north of downtown Milwaukee. The proposed building is designed by Joel Agacki, co-founder of Striegel-Agacki Studio.
Retail market rebounds in Q2
The southeastern Wisconsin retail real estate market bounced back during the second quarter, recovering from a rough first quarter, according to the Xceligent and Commercial Association of Realtors Wisconsin (CARW) second quarter report. During the second quarter the market had positive net absorption of 82,607 square feet of space and the vacancy rate dipped to 7.7 percent.

Construction spending soars
Construction spending in May across the nation reached the highest level since December 2009 as widespread gains in private nonresidential construction, single-family and multifamily homebuilding more than offset a continuing downturn in public construction, according to an analysis of new federal data released today by the Associated General Contractors of America.
