Hotel Metro hosts shoe drive to help homeless
Guest House of Milwaukee volunteer Ossie Kendrix, Jr has teamed up with Hotel Metro and Zen on 7 to sponsor a Sole-ution to Homelessness Shoe Drive at Hotel Metro on Thursday, July 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. Attendees are asked to donate new or gently used men’s shoes. Cash donations will also be accepted.
United Way needs volunteer readers, tutors and mentors
The United Way of Greater Milwaukee recently launched an initiative to recruit 3,000 new volunteer readers, tutors and mentors over the next three years. The initiative was launched during the “Brewers Hill Literacy Day” event on Tuesday.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun have partnered with SURG Restaurant Group to open 8-Twelve MVP Bar & Grill in Brookfield.
