K-9 Fest raises $30,000 for police dogs
More than 1200 people attended the first ever Milwaukee Emergency Center for Animals’ Vest a K-9 Fest held to raise awareness for needed funds to vest Wisconsin police dogs with bullet and stab-proof vests. The event raised more than $30,000.

New coalition helps those with vision loss
Connections in Sight, a new coalition made up of several Milwaukee-based organizations dedicated to enhancing the lives of residents with changing vision and vision loss, launched an art exhibit and a new web portal designed to support area residents with various degrees of vision loss.

Ronald McDonald House buys county land for future expansion
The Milwaukee County Board has voted unanimously to allow the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Wauwatosa to purchase 3.5 acres of County land that is adjacent to the four acres of land that Ronald McDonald House currently leases from the County. The purchase of the land lays the ground for the organization’s expansion plans.
