Kroger opens automated fulfillment center in Pleasant Prairie

After first announcing plans for an automated grocery and home-delivery facility in Pleasant Prairie in November of 2019, Kroger Co.’s new fulfillment center officially opened this week.

Slinger-based MBW planning expansion

Slinger-based MBW, Inc., a manufacturer of compaction and concrete construction equipment, is planning to expand operations by building a new research and development facility. MBW currently operates at 250 Hartford Road.

Marquette professor receives $4.2 million Department of Energy grant

A Marquette University faculty member has been named the recipient of a $4.2 million Department of Energy Grant. Adam Dempsey, an assistant professor of mechanical engineering in the Opus College of Engineering, will use the funding to further research technology to be used in lean-burn natural gas engines.

Common Council approves RNC framework agreement, without $6 million request

With no discussion, the Milwaukee Common Council on Wednesday unanimously approved a framework agreement for hosting the Republican National Convention, if the city is chosen for the event.

A framework agreement between the city of Milwaukee and the Republican National Committee is now in limbo after an amendment to the plan -- related to hosting the 2024 Republican National Convention -- was brought forward today, but no action on it was immediately taken by the Common Council's Steering & Rules Committee.
