U.S. Oil acquires Milwaukee terminal

U.S. Oil, an Appleton-based petroleum and renewable energy distribution division of U.S. Venture Inc., announced today it has acquired a Milwaukee oil terminal from Marathon Petroleum Corp.

The terminal, located at 9125 N. 107th St., will add 530,000 barrels of capacity to the U.S. Oil network and will expand its distribution network to 20 terminals.

U.S. Oil owns and operates strategically located terminals in Milwaukee, Green Bay, Chippewa Falls and Madison, as well as other terminals in Michigan, Iowa and Texas. The network is served by the Explorer, Magellan and WestShore pipelines and also provides Great Lakes and Mississippi River barge access with multiple rail facilities. The company plans to upgrade technologies at the Milwaukee facility.

“With this acquisition we will continue to service our customers through distribution, wholesale, branded and logistics businesses,” said Mike Koel, vice president of business development for U.S. Oil.  “We look forward to continuing the relationships already in place while expanding our customer base.”

“U.S. Oil has an excellent reputation in terminal operations and management. We expect the transition to go smoothly,” said John Swearingen, senior vice president of transportation and logistics for Findlay, Ohio-based Marathon Petroleum.
