What fitness clubs do you belong to, if any? Wisconsin Athletic Club and Bally’s

Other than the obvious health benefits, how has being fit improved your life? Being fit has helped me develop self-confidence, discipline and a strong work ethic. It keeps me energized and provides more opportunities to spend quality time with my family and friends. It has also created opportunities to give back to others through teaching, coaching and volunteer activities.

How does personal fitness affect your work life? Personal fitness increases energy levels and also helps me to conciously focus on goal setting. Being fit requires you to constantly set and achieve new goals, while working to maintain balance in your life between work, fitness and personal responsibilities.

How does fitness or wellness affect your overall organization? I have a small organization, but we have all chosen to make fitness a part of our lives.

What advice do you have for other executives interested in starting either a personal fitness plan or corporate wellness initiative? There are great financial, productivity, and cultural benefits for firms with successful wellness and fitness programs. My advice is to lead by example and work with fitness minded employees to make wellness a part of your company culture. Employees are much more likely to take care of themselves if the leaders of the organization participate and make it a priority.
