What has fueled your company’s growth?
“Clients have always been thrilled with our responsiveness and quality, supporting long-term and growing relationships. In addition, we purchased a lighting company based in Cleveland three years ago. Two years ago, we opened a branch in the Detroit area. We are now able to provide the same great service throughout the upper Midwest states.”
What is the biggest obstacle to your company’s growth?
“Stay-Lite has focused on hiring only top quality people and training them extensively. Finding great talent, particularly skilled trades, will be challenging as the job market tightens.”
Do you plan to make any changes to your company?
“We have already begun to establish satellite locations (personnel, equipment, warehousing) in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Richmond (Va.) to broaden our ‘self-perform’ regional coverage for lighting, electrical and signage repair and maintenance. The rapid growth also requires continued strengthening of the leadership team.”
Who are the business people you admire?
“I truly admire the Stay-Lite employees! They come to work every day charged and motivated to exceed the customers’ expectations. They treat each other with respect, kindness and humor. All while ensuring Stay-Lite continues to grow and is profitable.”
What is the outlook for your industry?
“The need for high-quality and effective lighting and electrical services will remain strong. Energy saving lighting upgrades, particularly with the continued development of L.E.D. technology, is still accelerating.”
What is your company’s most important growth strategy?
“Over the past three years, Stay-Lite has invested significantly in capacity, buildings, people and equipment. We are now self-performing lighting, electrical and signage repairs in 12 states, and delivering the same services through valued partners in the balance of the states. Focused growth within this capacity will provide increased efficiencies.”
