SPX names Hegeman as president of Waukesha division

SPX Corp. has named William (Bill) Hegeman as president of the SPX Transformer Solutions Inc. business unit, which is headquartered in Waukesha.

SPX Transformer Solutions, which was formerly known as Waukesha Electric Systems, is one of the largest manufacturers of power transformers in the United States as well as a leading supplier of transformer and LTC services and components.

Hegeman has served as the interim president of SPX Transformer Solutions since late March, in addition to serving as vice president of finance and the chief financial officer of the business since April, 2005.

Hegeman previously served as president of Diversified Assembly Technology Corp. and provided leadership for Best Power, a former SPX business.

“Bill’s manufacturing management experience and knowledge of this business will be an ideal fit for our company in this challenging business climate,” said Laurie Smaglick Johnson, vice president and chief marketing and sales officer of SPX Corp., which is based in Charlotte, N.C. “We all look forward to continuing our tradition of building strong customer relationships and providing superior quality products and services with Bill at the helm.”
