Pewaukee-based Marriott Construction is planning to construct a 120,000-square-foot building, the second speculative industrial building in the park.

“What we are seeing is the economy continues to perform well and we are expecting that to continue for the next couple of years,” said Jeff Hoffman, of Cushman & Wakefield | Boerke, who will be leasing the property. “There is a lack of industrial space, in general and specifically in the airport market.”

The building will require city approval.

Pet food manufacturer, Stella & Chewy’s, was the first tenant in the OakView Business Park, a 220-acre business park developed by Wispark LLC southwest of West Oakwood Road and South Howell Avenue. Stella & Chewy’s occupies a 164,000-square-foot building.

Dickman Co. is currently developing a 133,000-square-foot spec industrial building on 8.6 acres in OakView Business Park. The building, with space for up to four tenants, is under construction and expected to be completed in April.

Marriott Construction decided to build in OakView Business Park because of the significant amount of commercial development occurring in Oak Creek, Hoffman said.

“Jim (Marriott, president of Marriott Construction) had been looking throughout southeastern Wisconsin and what drew him to Oak Creek was the quality of development he saw and the dynamics of the city,” Hoffman said.
