Grafton-based Seek Careers/Staffing Inc. has acquired Minnesota-based Brigham Group Staffing.
Brigham has branches in Minneapolis and Bloomington, Minn., as well as an office in Baldwin, Wis.
Jennifer Brigham, founder and CEO of the Brigham Group, will serve as Seek’s vice president of marketing.
Founded in 1981, Brigham Group announced on its web site today that it is now doing business as Seek Careers/Staffing Inc.
The acquisition will add two locations and six employees to Seek’s business. There are now about 70 employees at the company.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“We like growing our company and we like doing it both organically and by acquisition,” said SEEK chief executive Carol Schneider. “Jennifer Brigham and I have known each other for many years and we have talked often about merging our companies, and I guess the timing was right.”
Schneider plans to make other acquisitions in the near future, including one in 2013.
“Our strategy for the next five years is to reach a certain number in sales and to do that we can either grow organically or by acquisition. Lately it’s been difficult organically, so acquisition seemed to be the way to go,” she said. “We’re trying to build a little bit more strategically so that we don’t find ourselves getting in an airplane every time we want to visit a branch.”
