Sears Grand store in West Bend to close in May

Sears Holdings Corp. informed the state Department of Workforce Development that it plans to close the Sears Grand store at 230 N. 18th Ave. in West Bend. The store will close on May 9. All 71 employees at the store will lose their jobs.
The building was a Kmart store but was converted to a Sears Grand store in 2006. Kmart Corp. purchased Sears, Roebuck and Co. and converted some Kmart stores, including the West Bend store, to Sears Grand stores.
