Learn more about:

The Schlitz Park Miler, a competitive one-mile road run race open to the public, is scheduled for Tuesday, June 25, at 5:30 p.m.

In its second year, the race awards top runners with cash prizes, including a $100 bonus prize for the man who beats last year’s victory time of 4 minutes and 29 seconds and the woman who finishes under last year’s 5 minutes and 12 seconds winning time.

Additional cash prizes will be distributed to the top three performing men and women ages 20 to 30 and 40 or over. Leading male and female runners will also receive a $50 gift certificate from Performance Running Outfitters, which serves as an official partner of the race.

The Miler race course, which starts east of North 2nd Street on West Pleasant Street, includes a variety of turns, climbs and descends throughout Milwaukee’s Schlitz Park neighborhood. On race day, the mile course will also be used by the Schlitz Park Criterium, a bike challenge that is part of the 11-day Tour of America’s Dairyland Pro-Am bike race.

Cost to participate in this year’s run is $20 for the general public through Tuesday, June 18, and $25 on race day. Schlitz Park residents can run for a 50 percent discount on the entry fee. Each runner will take home a race t-shirt and a coupon to Performance Running Outfitters and will be able to enjoy refreshments directly after the race (including beer for runners age 21 and over).
