Repairers of the Breach, a daytime shelter and resource center for homeless residents of Milwaukee, is reaching out to the community with a need for donations to support the homeless individuals it serves. Seasonal items needed in time for winter include:
* T-Shirts sizes XL, 2X, 3X
* Athletic socks & warm socks – adult sizes
* Men’s and women’s underwear – all sizes, especially extra large
* Men’s and women’s coats, especially big and tall
* Rain ponchos in pouches
* Hats, scarves and gloves
* Adult clothing – in-season and appropriate, including hooded sweatshirts
* Boots and walking shoes made for rugged wear and in good condition
* Fanny-packs, book bags, suitcases on wheels
* African-American hair products, Vaseline, wave brushes, combs
* Feminine products
* Disposable razors, mini-kleenex packs, chapstick, other hygiene items
* Mini-FirstAid Kits (Walmart), pocket calendars, mini-sewing kits
* Blankets and sleeping bags
* Bottled water
Donations can be dropped off at the west door of Repairers of the Breach, 1335 W. Vliet St. in Milwaukee, Mondays through Saturdays between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Individuals contributing items may fill out an in-kind form so that their donations are acknowledged for tax purposes.
