Small retail building planned in New Berlin
Devo Management Co. plans to build a 6,000-square-foot multi-tenant retail building at 3500 S. Moorland Ave. in Sendik’s New Berlin Plaza. The new building will replace a vacant former Burger King restaurant building, which will be demolished.

PNC buys tax credits for Westlawn public housing project
PNC Bank purchased $76 million in low-income housing tax credits for the redevelopment of Westlawn, the largest public housing community in the state, located southwest of North 60th Street and West Silver Spring Drive. The initial $85 million phase of the project will include 250 new units. “PNC’s commitment to the Westlawn revitalization will help ensure the availability of high-quality affordable housing in Milwaukee and act as a catalyst for additional development in the surrounding neighborhood,” said Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.

Silver City Townhomes opens
A grand opening ceremony was held recently for Silver City Townhomes, a 20-unit affordable housing development built near South 35th Street and West Pierce Avenue on Milwaukee’s south side.
