Real Estate & Development Conference will be ‘Developer’s Fantasy Camp’

Imagine you have been appointed king of Milwaukee for a day. You hold all the chips, you press all the buttons and you pull all the levers. And you are a commercial real estate developer. What is the one dream project you would do?
BizTimes is asking that question to three commercial real estate developers. They will present their dream projects at the 10th annual BizTimes Commercial Real Estate & Development Conference.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Developers Fantasy Camp.” The panelists who will present their dream projects at the conference will be: Gary Grunau, president of Milwaukee-based Grucon Group; Bob Monnat, partner and chief operating officer of Mandel Group; and Blair Williams, owner of Milwaukee-based WiRED Properties.

The panelists of developers will make the case for community support for each of their dream projects to judges at the conference. The judges will include Mark Eppli, interim James H. Keyes Dean of Business Administration and Robert B. Bell Sr. Chair in Real Estate at Marquette University, Andrew Weiland, managing editor of BizTimes Milwaukee and Jim Villa, president and CEO of the Commercial Association of Realtors Wisconsin (CARW).

This year’s BizTimes Commercial Real Estate Conference will be interactive in real time. Members of the audience will have the opportunity to comment on Twitter about each of the projects with their smart phones and iPads during the conference. Members of the audience also will vote on which project would provide the best value to the community.

The BizTimes Commercial Real Estate Conference is presented annually in partnership with the Robert B. Bell Sr. Chair in Real Estate at Marquette University and CARW.

The conference will take place on Thursday, Nov. 1, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Potawatomi Bingo Casino in Milwaukee. To register to attend the conference, visit www.biztimes.com/creconference.
