Quality Inn in Brookfield sold

Deal latest in flurry of Brookfield hotel activity

Organizations:

Brookfield continues to be a hotbed of hotel activity. The Quality Inn in the Town of Brookfield sold last week for $3 million, in the latest hotel transaction to hit the area, according to state records.

Long-time owners Bob and Anita Dhir sold the 129-room property at 20150 W Bluemound Road, to a group called Dev Properties LLC, based in Milwaukee.

Nancy Justman, CEO of VISIT Brookfield, said the Dhirs own several properties and are nearing retirement. They were approached by the purchaser and decided to sell, Justman said.

“It’s my understanding the flag will not be changing,” Justman said. “This is a sign that the economy is good. People want to make investments in strong areas.”

The Dhirs also own the Best Western Milwaukee Airport Hotel & Conference Center, 5105 S Howell Ave. and the Super 8 Milwaukee, 5253 S Howell Ave. Bob Dhir said at this time, they plan on keeping those properties.

“One of the reasons we sold to this buyer is he will retain the flag and more importantly, our experienced, dedicated staff,” Dhir said. “We’ve had this hotel for over a dozen years and our staff has been totally hard working, giving the best service to our guests.”

Dhir would not say who the buyer is, just that he is local and in the hospitality business.

Other Brookfield hotel transitions this month include the $9.1 million sale of TownePlace Suites in Brookfield and the $5.6 million sale of Midway Motor Lodge.

Several of the Brookfield hotels are also undergoing major renovations including Brookfield Suites Hotel & Convention Center, the DoubleTree and the Sheraton Milwaukee Brookfield.
