Sussex-based Quad/Graphics Inc. is receiving $15.7 million in tax credits from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to assist in the addition of 500 jobs in Wisconsin.

The global provider of print and media solutions is hiring immediately, and company spokeswoman Claire Ho said it is “quite possible” the jobs will be created in fewer than five years. The positions are full-time, full-benefit positions with career advancement possibilities, as well as flexible part-time positions.

“We are hiring because we are adding work to our Wisconsin network of plants as we continue to manage our overall platform, migrating work to facilities where we can manufacture and distribute it most efficiently,” Ho said. “In addition, as we win new work, we continue to fill available capacity on our most efficient platforms, too. Our Wisconsin platform, which consists of 15 major manufacturing, distribution and related facilities, is among the most efficient platforms in the entire printing industry.”

Over the next five years, Ho said the WEDC will provide $15.7 million in tax credits for job creation, capital expenditures and training. Specifically, if Quad/Graphics meets its goals, it will receive $3.14 million per year in tax credits as follows: $1.6 million for job creation; $1 million for capital expenditures; and $500,000 for training.

Added Ho: “Quad/Graphics had many options for where to create these 500 jobs. We have highly efficient manufacturing facilities in multiple states. We appreciate the incentives provided by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.”

Quad/Graphics currently has 7,756 full-time and part-time employees in Wisconsin and approximately 20,000 across the U.S.
