Reilly, Penner and Benton LLP, Elm Grove, has named Dave Bradford its new operations director. Bradford, a former physician assistant, has a medical degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from UW-Milwaukee. His previous positions include serving as COO of a nonprofit as well as functioning as administrator, operations director, COO, and CEO within Milwaukee-area medial groups and health insurance companies.

Zeppos & Associates Inc., Milwaukee, has promoted Emily White to assistant account executive. In her new role, White will be responsible for providing client services, including writing, media affairs, community relations, and special event planning.

Zizzo Group Marketing + PR + New Media, Milwaukee, has added two new web developers to the agency’s creative team. Jon Balza has been named new web development manager and is responsible for overseeing the department and working hands-on with projects to ensure client satisfaction. Bill Miller is a senior web developer for Zizzo Group’s creative department.

 
Architecture

AG Architecture, Wauwatosa, has named five new principals to the firm. Each has purchased shares of ownership. Tracey Schnick and Joseph Silvers each lead one of two studios at the firm. Anthony Luciano, leads the engineering group at the firm and has maintained in-house structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing design disciplines for the firm. John Cronin was also named principal and has been the firm’s senior design architect since the beginning. Cynthia Lofy has managed the firm’s finances since 1992 and was also named principal.

Banking & Finance

Waukesha State Bank has promoted Wendi Muehls to senior mortgage consultant. Muehls will be responsible for mentoring and guiding new mortgage consultants, as well as handling mortgage origination primarily serving the downtown Waukesha, East Racine Avenue-Waukesha, Fox Run-Waukesha, and Mukwonago Offices. She has been with the bank since 2007.

Guardian Credit Union has named Teresa O’Malley as a mortgage account executive in its West Allis branch and Christopher Olson a branch manager in Menomonee Falls. O’Malley has 32 years of experience in the mortgage lending and financial industry and Olson has more than five years experience in the financial industry. Prior to joining Guardian Credit Union, Olson worked as an insurance agent, customer banking consultant, service manager, and personal banker.

Scott Sheaffer was recently named controller and John Mau was named senior vice president, director of corporate credit administration for Johnson Financial Group, Racine. Sheaffer has more than 22 years of banking industry experience. Prior to working at Johnson Financial in a consulting role and partnering with the company’s finance team, Sheaffer held various positions with M&I Bank. Mau has nearly 25 years of banking industry experience and most recently served as senior corporate manager managing credit and loan operations at BMO/M&I Bank.

 

Building & Construction

Jim Rooney has joined Bukacek Construction, Racine, as a senior superintendent. Rooney has more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry. He is currently overseeing the 208,000-square-foot expansion for Ruud Lighting in Sturtevant.

 

Chambers of Commerce

The Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC)’s Council of Small Business Executives (COSBE) has elected four new directors to serve a three-year term on the board. They include: Jeffrey Clark, president and CEO of Waukesha Metal Products; Debra Kessler, chief financial officer of Palermo Villa Inc.; Mike Malatesta, founder and president of Advanced Waste Services, Inc., and Rick Parra, branch manager for Pieper Electric, Inc.

 

Education

Herzing University has named Nigel Longworth is its new vice president of information technology and CIO, based at the Milwaukee headquarters. Longworth previously served as the head of IT for the Milwaukee School of Engineering, providing him with experience in the information technology needs of a higher education institution. He also served on the board of directors for the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities.

 

Engineering

Steve Miazga, business development manager, of R.A. Smith National Inc., Brookfield, will serve as co-chair for the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) 2012 CenterBuild Conference. Miazga has served on the CenterBuild Program Planning Committee since 2003 and has previously served in leadership roles at the sub-committee level for the conference.

 

Health Care

Vikram Kanagala, has been appointed assistant professor of medicine, general internal medicine, at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Wauwatosa. He serves patients at Froedtert Hospital. Prior to joining the faculty, Kanagala served an internal medicine residency through Robert Packer Hospital and the Guthrie Clinic in Sayre, Pa.

 

Insurance

Diversified Insurance Services, Brookfield, has named Tom Jocz president of its Employee Benefits Group. Jocz has more than 20 years of industry experience and has been with Diversified Insurance Services for 16 years and is a shareholder.

Eric Stuart was recently promoted to commercial lines underwriting manager at Sheboygan-based Acuity. He joined Acuity in 2002 as a commercial lines underwriter and was promoted to commercial staff underwriter in 2006.

 
Legal Services

Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. recently announced its 2011 Fellowship in Law Recipients. They include Jason Sanders at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Christopher Flowers at Marquette University. The Fellowship in Law program was established as part of the firm’s ongoing diversity initiative and is designed to continue to promote diversity within the student body of the law schools. The program provides a full, three-year scholarship to one student at the University of Wisconsin Law School and one student at Marquette University Law School. In addition to tuition, recipients are also offered mentoring from Godfrey & Kahn attorneys, as well as a position as a summer associate at the firm. The selection of fellowship recipients is mutually determined by Godfrey & Kahn and the participating universities.

Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. has also announced that attorney Kristine Cherek has been shortlisted for the 2012 Chambers USA ‘Women in the Law’ Awards in the Up & Coming Real Estate Lawyer of the Year category. The Chambers USA ‘Women in the Law’ Awards will honor outstanding female stars of the U.S. legal community at an awards ceremony in New York in February.

Davis & Kuelthau, S.C. has named Thomas Drought as an Of Counsel Attorney in its Milwaukee office. He will be a part of the Trusts, Estates and Succession Planning practice group. Drought has more than 50 years of experience with different types of trusts and probate administration proceedings. In addition to his experience with probate and trust administration, Drought has also served as an expert witness in probate litigation. Prior to joining Davis & Kuelthau, Drought worked of counsel with Cook & Franke S.C.

Kenneth Davis Jr. has joined the firm of Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren S.C. Davis was the recent and longtime dean of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School and the inaugural holder of the Frederick W. and Vi Miller Endowed Deanship. Davis joins Reinhart on an of counsel basis and will help to build Reinhart’s Corporate Governance and Investor Relations Services Group. Kenny Hoeschen, was also added as an attorney in the firm’s Intellectual Property (IP) Practice. Prior to joining Reinhart, Hoeschen was an associate at a large international law firm, where he practiced in the firm’s Information Technology & Outsourcing, and Privacy, Security & Information Management areas.

 
Manufacturing

James Moe and Brendan Terrazas have been named blending supervisors at Wixon Inc., St. Francis. Prior to joining Wixon, Moe was a supervisor at Kerry Ingredients in Sturtevant. Terrazas was previously a production supervisor at Amalga Composites in West Allis.
Miner Enterprises Inc., recently appointed John Swezey as general manager of Kenosha-based Powerbrace Corp. Swezey will replace Mike Weber who is retiring. WI Powerbrace is a wholly owned subsidiary of Miner Enterprises Inc., which is headquartered in Illinois. Powerbrace is the premier manufacturer of door securement systems products serving the truck-trailer, intermodal, specialty, and truck body markets.

Spancrete, Waukesha, has promoted Scott Bertschinger to vice president of human resources and risk management. Bertschinger most recently served as the company’s corporate director of human resources and risk management. He has been with the company since 1997.
Milwaukee-based, WPC Technologies, Inc., has named Robert Kruse executive vice president. He joined the company in 2009, and served as operations manager prior to his promotion.
Moving Services

C.H. Coakley & Co. Inc., Milwaukee, has hired Tiffany Drahonovsky as an account executive in the company’s Commercial Moving and Storage Divisions. Drahonovsky previously held sales and customer service positions at LexisNexis, ADP and The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Nonprofit

Milwaukee Achiever Literacy Serves, a nonprofit adult literacy and workforce development agency, has named Tracy Loken Weber as its new executive director.  Loken Weber has several years of education and adult literacy experience. Prior to this position, Loken Weber was the programs director for the agency.

ABCD: After Breast Cancer Diagnosis, Glendale, recently named Patricia Sara and Sandra Underwood to its board of directors. Sara, a breast cancer survivor, is an executive with John Hancock Long-term Care Insurance and Underwood is a professor of nursing at UW-Milwaukee and is a long-time member of ABCD’s Medical and Community Advisory Council.

The MPC Endowment Ltd., a nonprofit organization affiliated with the Milwaukee Press Club, recently named Jim Nelson, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel; Joel Dresang, Landaas & Co.; Barb Haig, Haig-Jackson Communications; and David Niles, Productive Knowledge Marketing & Public Relations, to its board of directors. The MPC Endowment annually provides scholarships to communications students at UW-Milwaukee, Marquette University and UW-Madison, provides grants to high school journalism programs in the city of Milwaukee, and supports educational programming of the Milwaukee Press Club, such as the Excellence in Journalism contest.

 
Real Estate

HSI Properties LLC, Waukesha, promoted Robert Mueller to development coordinator. Mueller has worked with HSI since 2008. Matthew Gordon, a soon-to-be graduate of UW-Milwaukee was also added to the firm as a real estate assistant.

Milwaukee-based Mid-America Real Estate-Wisconsin, has added Ryan Holzhauer as broker associate on the Property Representation Team.  Holzhauer most recently served as commercial real estate advisor at The Boerke Company.

Buyseasons Inc., New Berlin, recently hired Larry Borkhus, staff accountant; Kristen Crump, manager of public and community relations; Mark Poklar, vice president of marketing; John Snyder, controller; Linda Wallace, human resources manager; and Cheryl White, director of human resources.
