Comprehensive Plan: The Village of Oostburg has not yet completed this plan for future growth, but intends on starting in 2006/2007.
Basic process of approval or denial of a development plan:
Preliminary Plat
• 1st Plan Commission and Engineers Review
• 2nd If passed by Plan Commission it goes to the Village board for approval
Final Plat
• 3rd Plan Commission reviews plan for compliance with Land Use Plan, subdivision requirements etc.
• 4th If passed by Plan Commission it goes to Village Board for approval
TIF Districts:
TIF No. 1 (1999) Created as a Business Park along I-43
TIF No. 2 (2001) Created for Downtown Development, amended in 2002
Redevelopment Aid: Through state programs, there are Community Development Block Grants & Industrial Revenue Bonds. Locally some money is available through the CDA as part of our revolving loan fund.
Time Schedule for Plan Approval: The typical amount of time from submittal to final approval on site plan reviews is a maximum of 90 days.
Building or Growth Moratoria: There are currently no building or growth moratoria in place.
