Organizations:

Brookfield-based professional training webinar provider OnCourse Learning has promoted Brett Shively to be its new president and chief executive officer.

Brett Shively

Shively joined OnCourse Learning in 2016 as its executive vice president and general manager of professional education. He previously held leadership roles at Everspring Partners, Trident University, DeVry Education Group and Kaplan Financial.

He replaces Patrick Sheahan, who has been president and CEO of OnCourse since 2011.

The company was recently acquired for a reported $500 million by Bertelsmann, a German global media, services and education company.

It has about 375 employees and an online library of around 22,000 courses used for corporate and advanced training in the health care, financial services and real estate sectors.

“As a customer-oriented, highly experienced education executive, Brett has the qualities to lead OnCourse Learning into the future,” said Kay Krafft, CEO of Bertelsmann Education Group. “In his 25-year career, Brett has led major educational organizations and operations, overseeing sales, marketing and client care. Brett has proven his visionary strength at OnCourse Learning over the past three years.”

The 11-year-old company has grown steadily through acquisition. In January, OnCourse Learning announced the acquisition of Lake Geneva-based Wound Care Education Institute Inc., and in August, it announced the acquisition of Waunakee-based Total Training Solutions.

“As we move forward, OnCourse Learning will set the bar in e-learning education with financial services and real estate course content and a proprietary learning management system, OnCourse Direct,” Shively said. “We will deliver solutions that ensure the learning and administration experience is efficient, effective and engaging.”
