O’Leary, 35, bought out founder Andy Willms, 60, who established the business in 1990. The pair had been planning the succession of ownership over the past few years, O’Leary said.

Willms will remain with the firm part-time in an of counsel role. He will focus more of his time on his investment advisory firm, The Milwaukee Co.

O’Leary joined Willms S.C. in 2008 and became a partner in 2014. The firm name has been changed to Willms-O’Leary S.C., but O’Leary doesn’t plan to make any other changes.

“Ever since I became a partner I’ve been committed to the long-term success of the firm and it’s since then been my goal to work towards acquiring ownership of the firm,” she said. “I just plan on continuing down the road that we’ve been traveling and remaining consistent in the services that we provide.”

Willms-O’Leary has four attorneys and two support staff. It is located at 414 N. Main St. in Thiensville.
