Northwestern Mutual gives back to local organizations

The Northwestern Mutual Foundation recently awarded $532,000 in grants to 23 southeastern Wisconsin organizations to assist with providing food, shelter or medical assistance to those in need.
“When people struggle to put a roof over their heads, food on the table or need relief from other dangers, the entire community is affected,” said Kimberley Goode, president of the Northwestern Mutual Foundation. “Our goal is to help strengthen communities by supporting nonprofit partners who can effectively provide immediate assistance when it matters most.”
Sojourner Family Peace Center was awarded one of the grants to assist with operating its 42-bed emergency shelter and educational programming for women and children victims of domestic abuse.
“Northwestern Mutual Foundation’s significant support is an excellent example of the meaningful way business and not-for-profits can work together to benefit the community in this time of great need,” said Angela Mancuso, Sojourner Family Peace Center co-executive director. “We are grateful to have them standing side by side with us as we work to provide safety and peace for families hurt by violence.”
