Humana exec named March of Dimes chair
Joanne Szymaszek, large group market practice leader for Humana Inc.’s Commercial market in Wisconsin, has been named the 2012 March for Babies Chair, the March of Dimes Wisconsin Chapter largest annual fundraiser. Szymaszek is personally committed to raising $80,000 towards the 2012 Milwaukee March for Babies goal of $350,000. March for Babies supports the organization’s research and community programs to help moms reach full-term pregnancies and provide babies with a healthy start.
“I’m honored to be asked to serve in this role,” Szymaszek said. “I have two healthy children and I’m grateful for the opportunity to work on a cause that brings people together for stronger, healthier babies.”
The Milwaukee 2012 March for Babies will take place on Saturday, April 28th at O’Donnell/Veterans Park.
“We are very excited to have Joanne lead this event at the local level,” said Babette Honoré, state director of the Wisconsin Chapter of the March of Dimes. “When business leaders take a public stand for a cause they support, they show the whole community the value of volunteer service and community involvement.”
