Qadira Oliver has joined the Milwaukee Center for Independence (MCFI) as director of community relations and external affairs. Oliver brings extensive expertise in community relations, fundraising and marketing to the post, with experience at the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), and the Milwaukee Public Museum.

Michael Mortell has joined the Milwaukee-based Alliance for Children and Families as the director of the Strategy Counts! initiative. Previously, Mortell served as project manager for the Greater Milwaukee Committee.
Milwaukee-based STEM Forward has added Rich Merkel to the organization as executive director. He brings more than 20 years of experience to the role.  Merkel comes to STEM Forward from Junior Achievement of Wisconsin where he most recently served as director of development. 

The Southeast Wisconsin Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure has named Diana Drews as its new executive director. Drews brings nearly four decades of fundraising and business experience to the organization, most recently serving in a management training role for both nonprofit and for-profit organizations. In addition, Rebecca Gottfried was named the organziation’s new assistant treasurer. Gottfried is a CPA and senior manager with Deloitte Tax LLP, she will serve a two-year term.

Community Shares of Greater Milwaukee has named Patricia McFarland, instructor at Milwaukee Area Technical College, its new board president, Peter Coffaro, procurement and business development manager at Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, as vice president and Tim Abler, financial reporting supervisor at Brookdale Senior Living, will continue as treasurer.

Safe & Sound, Inc., a non-profit committed to the mission of reducing violent crime in Milwaukee communities and among youth, has elected Benjamin Wagner, a shareholder at the law firm Habush, Habush, & Rottier S.C., and Randi Becker, vice president of Industry & Community Relations at The Mark Travel Corporation, to its board of directors.
