New Berlin firm wins major contract

A New Berlin company has won a $1.2 million (Canadian) contract for its manufacturing-related software.
The contract includes products from two subsidiaries of OnCourse Technologies in New Berlin: Micro Estimating Systems and TekSoft Inc.
Anchor Lamina Inc. in Windsor, Ontario, will obtain 38 seats of Machine Shop Estimating, seven seats of CAMWorks, and training and hardware. Acquired separately, but part of the overall project, Anchor Lamina will install more than 40 seats of SolidWorks. All of the software is new to the company.
This is the second major estimating software contract to automotive suppliers this year for Micro Estimating. The previous was a contract with the Driveline & Transmission Group of Metaldyne Corp. in Plymouth, Mich.
Anchor Lamina’s selection of the OnCourse Technologies products came after a two-year evaluation of methods for reducing non-value-added activities and improving its ability to quickly provide customers with more accurate and consistent quotes, according to Roy Verstraete, president and CEO of the Canadian company.
"Anchor Lamina not only understands the multiple technologies OnCourse offers," said Chuck Beyer, OnCourse president and Micro Estimating CEO. "The company recognizes how they work together.
"This contract led Anchor Lamina to examine its way of doing business, and maximize the utilization of the estimating software, its feature recognition capabilities and its tight integration with TekSoft’s CAMWorks and SolidWorks. The automotive supplier actually changed positions in its facilities to conform to this new data flow," Beyer said.
