Basic process of approval or denial of a development plan: Plan is submitted with application form and fee. Plan must be on file for 25 days before it goes to the Planning Commission. This gives time for departmental reviews.

TIF Districts: All plans for the TIF District goes before the Planning Commission. We have one TID area that is being developed and plans for another TID District. Present district has an outpatient hospital and medical clinic; a Home Depot; and a Wal-Mart Supercenter.

Redevelopment Aid: We have the Wisconsin Development Funds which an application must be submitted for and the fee paid.

Projects: We are a fast growing community; besides the TID District we have several large subdivisions under construction and several more being planned.

Fee Schedule: Fee schedule can be obtained from the Clerk’s Office and the new structure will be on the web page for review.

Time Schedule for Plan Approval: If plans are submitted in full and all changes made after review and before Plan Commission meeting they could receive approval from the Village Board the following night. Usually it takes about 45 days to get plans approved.

Building or Growth Moratoria: No moratorium is in effect. We have a boundary agreement with two of the adjoining towns.

Environmental Issues: Sensitive area in the village is the Mukwonago River and all developments are checked everyday by people to make sure that no polluting is going on.

Single Development Department: Plans are submitted to the Clerk’s Office for distribution to all departments for review. Final recommendation comes from the Village Planner (Contract Service) to the Plan Commission. All contract employees bill the Village for their service and the Village passes that billing onto the developer, so we always make sure that people understand this before they contact them by themselves.
