Meijer Inc. has selected its preferred site for a grocery/retail store in Kenosha, which is expected to open in 2014, according to a recent report in the Kenosha News.

Meijer has submitted a concept plan to the city for a 191,000-square foot building on the southeast corner of 76th Street and Green Bay Road, south of the Walgreens on the corner of Green Bay Road and 75th Street. The concept plan calls for the store to be on an approximately 23-acre site, which includes vacant land, four single-family homes and some parts of the existing Ocean Spray production facility land.

Meijer previously announced plans to build stores in Franklin, Grafton, Wauwatosa and Sussex. The company is also considering plans to build a store in Oak Creek, according to sources.
