What does your daily or weekly fitness regime consist of? My routine is different every week. I cross train six days a week that includes a road or trail run, road or mountain bike, weightlifting, yoga, volleyball, swim and/or P90X.

Other than the obvious health benefits, how has being fit improved your life? Diet and exercise is a way of life for me. It helps me with balance, relieve stress, stay healthy and be physically fit. I do like to compete (mostly against myself) in organized events, so it also keeps that competetive spirit alive.

How does personal fitness affect your work life? Personal fitness helps me with staying disciplined with my schedule and keeping priorities straight. I need to exercise to relieve that daily stress. I get the best ideas and solve problems during long runs or bike rides.

How does fitness or wellness affect your overall organization? When I had employees, they saw how diet and fitness was a part of my life. It was definitely a positive influence on them. If I had a larger organization, I would a wellness program in place.

What advice do you have for other executives interested in starting either a personal fitness plan or corporate wellness initiative? If you are not sure how to start, I would recommend talking to an expert in the area that you need help. There are so many websites that can provide online coaching and advise as well.
