The app is available at no cost in the Apple App Store or through the Android Market.
The new graphical interface is includes many features designed to simplify and streamline the process of selecting and purchasing tickets for a movie. Users can search for theatres or movies from the app’s home page. The app can list theatres that are within 25 miles of the user’s location, or search by zip code or city/state. Users can scroll through the theatres to see what is playing at each one, view trailers, get detailed movie information and buy tickets.
“The entire ticket purchase can now take place on your smart phone,” said Rolando Rodriguez, president and CEO of Marcus Theatres. “Your ticket will appear on your phone’s screen so there is no need to print anything, simply show your phone at the box office where the cashier will scan it for admission.”
