With 13 years in the staffing industry Venezuela native Manny Perez is committed to developing Milwaukee’s next generation of workers and revitalizing the city’s south side.

Perez was the former North America product manager for managed services staffing for Milwaukee-based Manpower Inc., the largest staffing corporation in the United States.

Three years ago, he executed a structured buyout of Milwaukee-based JNA Staffing Inc., which provides temporary and temp to hire and direct hire staffing solutions.

“The vision that I’ve brought to JNA is to help clients increase manufacturing profitability, facilitate permanent employment for qualified individuals and support economic development in Milwaukee,” said Perez, president and co-owner of JNA. “I loved working at Manpower but I had the thirst to run my own business. When the opportunity presented itself I had to answer the internal call.”

JNA was named “Employer of the Year” in 2008 by the United Migrant Opportunity Services (UMOS) for continuing to reduce poverty and facilitating the transition of recipients of public assistance into permanent jobs.

Even through the recession, Perez has continued that mission.

“I have driven JNA through rapid change,” he said. “We have converted a total of 150 employees to permanent employment.”

In the future, Perez wants to expand JNA’s services into new markets.

“JNA is entering the medical staffing industry,” he said.

The company recently moved to a new location on the south side of Milwaukee.

“We (JNA) are very committed to the revitalization to the south side of Milwaukee and our investment in our new building would continue generating employment in this neighborhood,” Perez said.
