Kohl’s renews donation to Hunger Task Force

Kohl’s Department Stores recently announced the renewal of its partnership with Hunger Task Force with a donation of $1.5 million over the next three years to continue support of the Kohl’s Serving Up Supper for Kids program, which provides nutritious meals to Milwaukee children in need throughout the summer months when school meals are not available.

The donation comes from Kohl’s philanthropic program, Kohl’s Cares, which sells special merchandise, including plush toys and books, and donates 100 percent of the net profit to benefit children’s health and education initiatives nationwide.

“Kohl’s and Hunger Task Force share a commitment to children’s health, and we applaud the work Hunger Task Force is doing to provide balanced, nutritious meals to local children in need,” said Michelle Gass, Kohl’s chief customer officer. “We are proud to be in a position to continue to support the Kohl’s Serving Up Supper for Kids program, which has proved to be of great value to the community.”

Kohl’s Cares donation of $1.5 million over the next three years will result in more than 120,000 suppers being served annually between June and August. Kohl’s Cares partnership with Hunger Task Force began in 2009 and has since provided more than 350,000 meals to date.

“Kohl’s Cares continues to be a committed and generous partner as they support our efforts to provide meals to Milwaukee children in need during the summer months when they aren’t provided meals at school,” said Sherrie Tussler, Hunger Task Force executive director. “Together with Kohl’s Cares, we are helping kids get the nutrition they need in a safe and friendly environment, alleviating some stress from moms and dads who are worried about how to feed their kids during the summer.”
