“We celebrated 60 years of family business success involving three generations with open houses, a picnic and a fireworks dinner cruise for employees and associates. We recognized the contribution of past and present employees, vendors andcustomers to our success.”

What’s new at your companyω
“We built and furnished a new meeting room and several offices. Several new sales, production and staff employees were hired to bring fresh insight and greater capacity to our experienced team. Also, we installed new business system software, which when fully implemented, should increase our effectiveness in doing business.”

Do you plan to hire any additional staff or make any significant capital investments in your company in the next yearω

“We have immediate opportunities for individuals with qualified metal shop skills, traffic and materials coordinator, as well as staff and production supervisory positions. We will continue to upgrade our shop equipment to gain further capabilities and production capacity.”

What will be your company’s main  challenges in the next yearω
“Adding qualified individuals to help us continue the growth and improvement of  Max Weiss Co.”

What’s the hottest trend in your industryω
“Architects and designers are trending toward using curved structural steel tubing in exposed applications for new large construction. Our ability to form tubing without damage or distortion has enhanced our reputation nationally.”

From a business standpoint, who do you look up toω
“Primarily, I thank my late father, Max Weiss. He taught me that values, character and integrity are the most important assets in a business, as well as in a person. Secondly, I appreciate my peers and associates, whose networking and continuing support has enabled us to offer opportunity and value to all associated with Max Weiss Co.”

What was the best advice you ever receivedω
“Satisfaction in life requires a proper balance between what we want, what others want from us and striving for what the Lord expects of us.”

What’s the most rewarding thing that ever happened to you in your careerω
“My most rewarding moment was being recognized by my employees for continuing the values of the company while offering opportunities for personal success in an atmosphere of
loyalty and personal caring.”

What do you like to do in your free timeω
“I enjoy the outdoors, particularly the water. Fishing, hunting, shooting and conservation along with dog training are my local enjoyments. Winter vacations generally are on the seashore, fishing and scuba diving. Touring in England is also high on the travel priority list.”
