Jumpstart on the Weekend

*Friday, Nov. 2, the Waukesha County Business Alliance will host the 12th annual World of Wines & Beer from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Davians Banquet & Conference Center, 16300 W. Silver Spring in Menomonee Falls. The event will feature more than 150 wines, 25 microbrews and treats to sample. Attendees will also be able to network with business executives and community leaders from the greater Milwaukee area and across the country. *Saturday, Nov. 3, the Milwaukee County Zoo will offer free admission for visitors from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through its Family Free Days at the Zoo series. Family Free Days are sponsored by North Shore Bank and FOX 6. Guests must still pay standard parking, rental and concession rates. The zoo is located at 10001 W. Blue Mound Rd. in Milwaukee. *Saturday, Nov. 3, Sounds of Saturday will be held in the Lubar Auditorium of the Milwaukee Art Museum, 700 N. Art Museum Dr. in Milwaukee. The performance, featuring live music by students and teachers from a top guitar program in the country, is presented by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Year of the Arts as part of its celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Peck School of the Arts. *Saturday, Nov. 3, the Milwaukee Public Museum will host a Buccaneer Bash with music from 88.9 Radio Milwaukee’s DJ Marcus Doucette, a special preview of the museum’s new exhibit Real Pirates, drinks from Great Lakes Distillery and more. Attendees are encouraged to wear pirate-themed costumes, and a costume contest will award the best dressed. The event runs from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the museum, 800 W. Wells St. in Milwaukee.
