Irgens to expand Froedtert and the Medical College’s Tosa Health Center building

Milwaukee-based development firm Irgens plans to build a 40,000-square-foot expansion onto the 60,000-square-foot Tosa Health Center building, located at the southwest corner of Mayfair Road and Watertown Plank Road in Wauwatosa, that it leases to Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Irgens plans to purchase a 15,000-square-foot office building at 1109 N. Mayfair Road and will demolish it to make way for the planned expansion of the adjacent Tosa Health Center building. The firm has a contract to purchase the 1109 building, said Mark Irgens, chief executive officer and manager of Irgens. Construction work could begin in July, he said.

Froedtert and the Medical College are still evaluating what exactly the addition to the building will be used for, said Medical College spokeswoman Maureen Mack. It will likely be used to expand existing clinics, add additional clinics and provide more office space, she said.
