The existing Infiniti dealership on Moreland Boulevard in Waukesha will be converted into a Porsche dealership, according to plans filed with the city.

International Autos Group is proposing to remodel the dealership located at 2228 E. Moreland Blvd. It is currently an Infiniti Milwaukee dealership owned by Lupient Automotive Group, but will be moved to a newly constructed 31,700-square-foot building on West Arthur Avenue in West Allis.

International Autos already operates a Porsche Waukesha dealership next door at 2230 E. Moreland Blvd. The plans for that existing space are unclear. Officials with the automotive group didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

According to city assessment records, both buildings at 2228 and 2230 E. Moreland Blvd. are owned by RMMI LLC, which lists a billing address identical to various International Autos Group dealerships on 108th Street in West Allis.

International Autos formerly owned the Infiniti dealership, which was originally located near Highway 100 and Arthur Avenue in Wes Allis, BizTimes reported previously. It had grown to two dealerships, one in Glendale and the other in Waukesha where it exists today. Lupient bought the dealership in 2017, and now plans to relocate its operations to the new West Allis building by the end of the year.

The roughly 17,100-square-foot existing Infiniti dealership building was constructed in 2006.

According to a letter from Milwaukee-based project architect Madisen Maher Architects, the remodeling work includes, among other things, a 312-square-foot showroom area addition, which is meant primarily to accommodate the newly shaped building facade, a 227-square-foot addition that will result in an enlarged new vehicle delivery area, and a 252-square-foot service lounge.

Once the project is finished, the building will total roughly 17,900 square feet, according to project documents.

The street-facing facade will be re-clad in eight-foot high clear insulated glass panels topped by four rows of four-foot-by-12-foot silver-colored metal panels. The panels will be curved to Porsche’s standard.

Proposed site work consists of reworking part of the front parking area to better display the showroom vehicles, improving existing landscaping and adding five vehicle charging stations.

The remodeled dealership will be called International Porsche of Waukesha.

International Autos is a family owned and operated group of dealerships serving customers in the Milwaukee, Sheboygan, Chicago and northwestern Indiana markets. It is owned by Ralph Mauro, whose son Frank purchased his original dealership in 1968.
