Illinois recycling firm to open West Bend plant

An affiliate of Qunicy, Ill.-based Quincy Recycle recently purchased a vacant 95,200-square-foot industrial building at 2230 Stonebridge Circle in West Bend for $2.4 million, according to state records.

The company plans to establish a recycling plant in the building, according to Jeno Cataldo of Prowess Commercial Real Estate Services, who brokered the property sale for the seller, The Equitable Bank.

“They’re going to start providing jobs for West Bend,” Cataldo said.

Quincy Recycling currently has plants in Quincy, Ill., Alsip, Ill. and New Haven, Ind. A representative of the firm could not immediately be reached for comment.

The West Bend building was formerly occupied by Nationwide Recycling, which declared bankruptcy in 2011. The Equitable Bank obtained the property and sold it to Quincy Recycle.

Qunicy Recycle already serves much of Wisconsin from its existing plant locations, but the West Bend facility will increase its presence in the state.

“The location is nice for them,” Cataldo said. “It gives them a middle ground to serve Wisconsin.”
