Hot Water acquires American Mechanical

Hot Water Products, a Milwaukee water heating products company, has acquired American Mechanical Services, a Milwaukee steam products company.

The acquisition joined two complementary businesses with similar philosophies and commitments to 24-hour service, said Jack Daniels, vice president and co-owner of Hot Water.
“We currently have been known for the past 14 years as the boiler room experts and all we were experts in was hot water,” Daniels said. “They only did steam and that’s what we were looking for.”
AMS’ six employees have moved into Hot Water’s 34,000-square-foot Milwaukee facility, 7254 N. Teutonia Ave. The company also has a branch in Madison.
The acquisition brings total employment to 29, with plans to add another two or three administrative and outside sales employees in the next three to four months, Daniels said.
The initial purchase price for the transaction was $300,000, with options for additional purchases over time, he said.
“I am confident that our existing customers will find the same high standard of products and service that they have been used to with AMS, with an even larger selection from which to choose,” said Matt Whitaker, former general manager of AMS. “The entire AMS team and I are excited to come onboard with Hot Water Products.”
