Home foreclosures decline in metro Milwaukee area

The amount of residential foreclosures in the metro Milwaukee area dipped 0.97 percent in February, down from 1.18 percent in February of 2014, according to the latest report from CoreLogic.

Foreclosure activity in the metro Milwaukee area was lower than the national foreclosure rate, which was 1.43 percent in February.

The mortgage delinquency rate in the metro Milwaukee area also decreased in February. According to CoreLogic data, 3.27 percent of mortgage loans in the area were 90 days or more delinquent, compared to 4.01 percent a year ago.

Statewide, the foreclosure rate in February was 0.75 percent, down from 0.96 percent a year ago, and the 90-day mortgage delinquency rate was 2.43 percent, down fro 2.98 percent a year ago.
