Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Workforce Health, a provider of wellness programming and health care services for employers, today announced it has been awarded three-year contract to provide wellness services for Milwaukee County employees.

Under the agreement, Workforce Health will provide annual health risk assessments, health coaching and tobacco cessation programs at multiple sites for more than 5,000 eligible employees and covered adult dependents, according to a press release from Froedtert & the Medical College.

“Our goal is to offer our employees a comprehensive program that encourages healthy behaviors that lead to long-term good health,” said Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele. “Improving the health of our employees will also benefit taxpayers by reducing the County’s health care spending.”

Barbra Fagan, director of business development for Workforce Health, said research shows that medical costs can decline three dollars for every dollar invested in a sustained wellness and prevention program.

“We’re confident that over time, the customized, targeted strategies we bring to Milwaukee County will deliver positive returns in terms of healthier employees and lower health care costs,” Fagan said. “Each employee population is unique, so customizing a plan based upon each organization’s profile is critical to success.”
