Coffee shop and wine bar planned on Jackson Street

Pleasant Kafe, a coffee shop and wine bar, is planned at 1600 N. Jackson St. on Milwaukee’s Lower East Side.

Located at the northeast corner of Jackson and Pleasant streets, the property consists of a two-story 1,950-square-foot store building built in 1865 and 1,202-square-foot two-story duplex-cottage built in 1900. The property is owned by Eric Seegers and Geoffrey Stone, according to city records. Seegers is also the registered agent for Pleasant Kafe LLC.

Pleasant Kafe will have a seating capacity of 35 with additional outdoor seating during the summer. It will offer coffee and pastry items in the morning and wine and cheese in the evenings.

Pleasant Kafe will be the latest addition to Jackson Street, which has attracted numerouse developments in recent years including the the 34-unit Avante Apartments at 1601 N. Jackson St., the 20-unit Sage on Jackson at 1509 N. Jackson St. and the 14-unit apartment building at 1530 N. Jackson St.

Pleasant Kafe expects to draw customers from people living within a five minute walk.
