Each of the four lines of clothing under the House of Carrington brand name describes a fictional character whose story develops with each season’s collection.
Think F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby.”
The main character developed by House of Carrington and Milwaukee-based Hanson Dodge Creative is Andrew Carrington. Andrew Carrington was a British wine importer who owned an estate, House of Carrington, where high-society artists, intellectuals and young aristocrats spent their nights drinking wine and discussing philosophy and society. The Andrew Carrington line offers high-end sportswear and tailored clothing fitting with this attitude and lifestyle.
Because Andrew Carrington was handsome, charming and naturally perfect at everything he did, the company’s second line of clothing, the Legend line from House of Carrington, represents the company’s golf wear, or what Andrew Carrington would have worn to the club. Knit shirts are made from fine Egyptian cotton. Sweaters and trousers are made of lightweight cashmere, cotton and wool.
Andrew Carrington’s younger brother, Liam, or Black Sheep as he is known, represents the trendier, more rebellious style that House of Carrington offers its customers. Products featured in the Black Sheep line include leather jackets and slimmer fitting shirts with more patterns considered more aggressive than traditional.
Isabelle, the company’s fourth line, will make its debut within the next year as a classic feminine, sultry offering for women. Isabelle’s character developed as Andrew Carrington’s American debutante girlfriend who was living in Paris when she met the brothers Carrington.
For the three lines of menswear that are available today, sport coats and suits retail from $745 to $1,500; trousers retail from $125 to $325; sport shirts retail from $145 to $195; knit shirts retail from $85 to $125; and sweaters retail from $125 to $400.
The Andrew Carrington and Black Sheep clothing lines are only available through independent specialty stores. Legend collections are only available at country clubs and resorts.
