Growth in the company drove Brookfield-based Centare into a brand new, modern facility at the beginning of 2012. Today, the company has nearly outgrown its new space, and is exploring its options for another expansion.

“In 2010 we had 31 employees,” said Dave Glyzewski, president and chief executive officer. “Today we have 103, and we continue to capitalize on that growth. We’re never not hiring these days.”

A few years ago, Centare redesigned how it approached customers in the market, Glyzewski said. The new approach, coupled with the family-like culture they’ve created at the company has catapulted the company’s growth over the past five years.

The company has tripled in size since 2009.

“Everybody here is engaged in the business,” Glyzewski said. “When you come to Centare, you’re a part of something. You feel like you have a purpose. People enjoy working here because of the culture we’ve created and because of the work they do. It’s just a lot of fun.”

Centare has made significant strides in moving the company towards being more than just a software developer, which creates a more engaging and exciting workplace, he said.

Centare provides agile transformation and coaching and training on SCRUM, a business productivity process that emerged from a software development system, and how to motivate effectively in teams.

“If we can help our clients become more flexible and help them achieve a happier, more productive team it’s a win-win for everybody,” Glyzewski said.

In addition to the company’s Brookfield office, Centare also has locations in Madison and Chicago. Glyzewski expects the Milwaukee market to grow over the next five years, but anticipates even more activity in the Chicago market moving forward.

“We’ve successfully moved beyond the traditional custom software business into more aggressive software development and the development of company leaders in that space,” Glyzewski said. “We want to stay out in front of that and so we will continue to take a look at the current market and adapt to what our clients need.”
