Medical College leads laser-activated cancer-fighting drug trial
The Medical College of Wisconsin is testing a laser-activated photosensitive dye as a new treatment for aggressive brain and spinal cord tumors. MCW has begun a Phase II trial of Photofrin and photodynamic therapy in adult patients at Froedtert Hospital, a protocol funded by Ontario-based Concordia Healthcare Corp.

Anthem to provide free college degrees for employees
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield announced on Tuesday a new partnership to make an associate’s or bachelor’s degree available at no cost for any of its eligible full-time and part-time associates in Wisconsin through College for America at Southern New Hampshire University. College for America partners with employers to offer a competency-based, online curriculum that is engineered to help associates fit a fully-accredited college degree in the busy lives of working adults.
UWM College of Nursing receives $600,000 grant
The Helene Fuld Health Trust has awarded the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's College of Nursing a $600,000 grant that will increase scholarships available to graduate students in nursing.
