Marquette to present forum on strokes

A panel of experts in biomedical engineering, medicine, physical therapy, and speech pathology and audiology from the Marquette University College of Health Sciences and the Medical College of Wisconsin will headline the next Marquette Presents forum on “Stroke – New Hope Through Rehabilitation.”

The free forum is scheduled for Friday at 7:15 a.m. in the third-floor Monaghan Ballroom in the Alumni Memorial Union, 1442 W. Wisconsin Ave.

Dr. William Cullinan, dean of the College of Health Sciences and director of the Integrative Neuroscience Research Center, will moderate the panel, which consists of:

• Dr. Allison Hyngstrom, assistant professor of physical therapy in the College of Health Sciences at Marquette.
• Dr. John McGuire, assistant professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
• Tina Puglisi-Creegan, clinical assistant professor of speech pathology and audiology in the College of Health Sciences at Marquette.
• Dr. Brian Schmit, professor of biomedical engineering in the Opus College of Engineering at Marquette.

Marquette Presents is a forum series developed by the College of Health Sciences at Marquette University to focus on community health issues. Previous forums in the series featured experts on the topics of depression, sports-related concussion, schizophrenia, addiction, exercise as medicine and spinal cord injury.

The forum includes a complimentary continental breakfast. Free parking is also available in the 16th Street Parking Structure, located between Wisconsin Avenue and Wells Street. Registration is required and available online at muconnect.marquette.edu/strokeforum.
