New hires and promotions

Aurora Health Care hired John Foley, an expert in health care redesign and payment innovation, to help lead Aurora’s business development strategy. As a senior vice president in Aurora’s enterprise business group,
Foley will drive the planning and creation of business development strategies that include managed care strategic initiatives.

Foley comes to Aurora with more than 25 years of industry payer experience, most recently at Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Wisconsin, where he was vice president of provider solutions. Foley will assume his new role at Aurora Health Care on June 29.   

Dr. B. Tucker Woodson, professor and chief of the Division of Sleep Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin, has joined Zelegent Inc.’s clinical advisory board. Woodson is also the director of the Froedtert Hospital/MCW Sleep Disorders Program and an internationally recognized expert in obstructive sleep apnea. Zelegent is an Irvine, Calif.-based medical technology company that is developing innovative tools for physicians who treat sleep disorders.

New Berlin-based Sunnyslope Dental Care recently hired Dr. Tarah Gerner. Gerner previously worked at Sunnyslope Dental Care as a dental assistant from 2007 to 2009. She received her dental degree from Marquette University, where she participated in Give Kids a Smile and served as a volunteer smoking cessation counselor. Gerner is a member of the American Dental Association, The Wisconsin Dental Association, the Greater Milwaukee Dental Society, The Waukesha County Dental Society and the Chicago Dental Society.
