By 2040 knowledge workers will decide where and how they want to work, according to a new report on the workplace of the future by Glendale-based Johnson Controls Inc.

Brady appoints president of Identification Solutions business

Milwaukee-based identification solutions manufacturer Brady Corp. has appointed Russell Shaller to the position of senior vice president and president of its Identification Solutions business, effective June 22. Shaller will report to Brady president and chief executive officer Michael Nauman, and will lead Brady’s largest global platform that includes safety and facility identification, wire identification and product identification businesses.

e-ImageData files lawsuit against competitor

e-ImageData Corp., a Hartford-based manufacturer of microfilm scanning systems used in libraries and institutions, has filed a lawsuit against ST Imaging Inc. of Northbrook, Ill. The lawsuit calls for a permanent injunction and monetary damages stemming from ST Imaging's alleged false and misleading advertising and statements made to e-Image's current and prospective customers.

Massachusetts manufacturer consolidating business in Milwaukee

Leominster, Mass.-based PFERD Inc. announced it plans to consolidate its staff and operations, including brush production, distribution, and sales and marketing, at its 100,000-square-foot Milwaukee facility. The move is scheduled to be completed by the early third quarter of 2015, around the same time the Massachusetts location will close.

Joy Global reports acquisition of hard rock mining company, dive in Q2 profits

Milwaukee-based Joy Global Inc. today reported it has acquired French hard rock mining company Montabert S.A.S. from Doosan Holding France S.A.S. for about $124 million.

Facility consolidations ding Brady Corp.

Milwaukee-based Brady Corp. reported fiscal third quarter net income of $17.2 million, or 33 cents per share, down from $24.1 million, or 39 cents per share, in the third quarter of 2014.
