The City of Waukesha's five-year quest to tap Lake Michigan to solve its water quality problems is finally moving forward. The application phase is over and the approval phase began earlier this summer. The public comment period is nearing its conclusion.

APPLETON- U.S. Oil acquires Indianapolis terminal

US Oil, the petroleum and renewable energy distribution division of US Venture Inc., has acquired a refined products terminal in Indianapolis, Indiana. The new terminal adds 410,000 barrels of capacity and expands US Oil's existing distribution network to 21 terminals in North America.

MADISON- Alliant to conduct multi-year solar-energy project

Alliant Energy will study solar energy generation in Madison in a multi-year project.
Construction on the project’s $5 million first phase started Monday on the 25 acres of land that houses Alliant’s 326,000-square-foot headquarters and is expected to be complete by year’s end.

MADISON: State to offer new funds for small dairy farmers

Focus on Energy has announced plans to offer approximately $6.4 million in anaerobic digester funds for Wisconsin small dairy farms. Small farms are defined as fewer than 700 cattle. According to Focus on Energy, the program will help bridge the gap between the state’s dairy majority and access to locally-produced energy, organic products and manure management.
