SHARP Literacy Inc., a Milwaukee-based nonprofit that promotes reading, writing and researching by engaging students in visual arts, welcomed LeVar Burton as the keynote speaker at its 2014 A Novel Event luncheon. Burton, an Emmy Award-winning actor, producer, director and author, is perhaps most famous for hosting and producing PBS’ “Reading Rainbow” educational TV program for more than 20 years.
