Bukacek Construction is in the process of designing and building a $900,000 addition to Norco Manufacturing’s Racine County facility located in the Town of Raymond. The 12,500-square-foot addition will almost double the size of the existing 15,000-square-foot facility. The project will be constructed of masonry block to match the appearance of the original building, which houses Norco’s aircraft hangar door manufacturing operation.
Plymouth-based Jim Pankow, Inc., has landed several design-build projects in Sheboygan, Ozaukee and Dodge counties. Projects include:
MSI General Corp. of Oconomowoc has announced design-build projects in Waukesha and Milwaukee counties.
Voss Jorgensen Schueler Co., of Waukesha is acting as general contractor on two projects in the education sector. Voss Jorgensen Schueler will build a 31,000-square-foot, $7 million Science, Technology and Campus Center for Mount Mary College in Milwaukee. The project, which will include a cyber cafÃ&Copy;, an electronic lecture hall, presentation and meeting rooms, the Women’s Leadership Institute and student organization offices, is scheduled for completion in August of 2003.
The company is also working with Carroll College, Waukesha, on renovations to 108 dormitory rooms on five floors of Bergstrom Hall. The project includes painting, carpeting, lighting and lowering the ceiling to conceal a new voice and data conduit. Completion is expected this month.
Voss Jorgensen Schuler has also completed or has nearly completed two private-sector projects as general contractor. Buildout of Frauchiger’s Cheese Store and Tavern, 724 N. Milwaukee St., was completed in June. A 900-square-foot addition to New Berlin Dental Clinic in New Berlin was also handled.
The company is also serving as construction manager for new construction at Heritage Parking Structure in Wauwatosa. The $2.4 million project consists of removing and replacing the existing single-story parking deck. Project completion is expected in September.
C.G. Schmidt Construction, Milwaukee, has completed renovations to the Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital. The 4,200-square-foot project included the conversion of the existing radiology department into the new center for breast care. The area now includes an ultrasound room, mammography rooms, x-ray dark room and x-ray reading room, exam rooms, and a technician area.
Briohn Building, Pewaukee, will design and remodel a 7,200-square-foot multi-tenant retail building at 6046 W. Fond du Lac Ave., Milwaukee. The building is owned by the Michael D. Morris Trust.
