Jim Lagina and his plumbing company, Lagina Plumbing, located at 3628 W. Pierce St. in Milwaukee, have been involved in motor sport racing sponsorship for more then 10 years.
Last summer, Lagina Plumbing became a sponsor for veteran racer Morgan Shepherd when he came to Milwaukee to compete in a NASCAR Nationwide Series race. Lagina supported Shepherd in seven NASCAR events in 2008, and are planning an even more extensive sponsorship role in 2009.
Companies from South Carolina and the Denver area have called, saying they saw the car on television and asked that Lagina be their plumber when they move to Milwaukee, Lagina said.
"It is just a really neat opportunity for us," Lagina said. "We attended all of the events that we sponsored, and were able to take customers to the races, and even generate some business from the opportunity."
